Schweizer Musikpreise

Selection procedure

The Swiss Music Prizes reward outstanding and innovative Swiss musical creation, helping to bring it into the limelight. Each year, the Federal Office of Culture entrusts an odd dozen experts in the field with the selection of candidates from all regions of Switzerland covering all musical disciplines. The candidates are then referred to the Federal Music Jury.

In February, the seven-member jury selects the winner of the Swiss Grand Award for Music and the ten winners of the Swiss Music Prizes.

The Swiss Grand Award for Music is endowed with CHF 100,000, each of the Swiss Music Prizes with CHF 40,000, and each of the Special Prizes for Music with CHF 25,000.
