Five Swiss Theatre Awards 2017

Five Swiss Theatre Awards go to individuals and institutions that have made an outstanding contribution to the dramatic arts in Switzerland.

This year, the Federal Theatre Jury recognises the work of three outstanding theatre personalities ─ puppeteer Margrit Gysin, actor and director Marielle Pinsard, and author and director Valérie Poirier ─ who have each pursued their own distinct career path and found their own distinct theatre aesthetics, themes and audiences. Such female role models are vital to encouraging a younger generation of women to aim for a career in the theatre. Swiss Theatre Awards also go to the musical theatre producers Dominik Flaschka & Roman Riklin, and to the artist duo Trickster^P from Ticino. The awards carry prize money of CHF 30,000 for individuals and CHF 50,000 for institutions.
