June Johnson Dance Prize goes to Unplush
The June Johnson Dance Prize, which is presented at the end of a competitive process in association with the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation, is designed to recognise young and innovative dance works. In all, 17 dancers and groups submitted entries, and Marion Zurbach’s Unplush company from Bern was chosen as the winner. Unplush work across a range of genres and, in pieces such as “Flipper”, tackle unusual themes in surprising and irreverent ways through dance of high quality.
The award, endowed by the Johnson Foundation, is worth CHF 25,000.
