“Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis” for 2016 goes to Compagnia Baccalà

This year’s “Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis” goes to the contemporary clown duo Compagnia Baccalà. Also nominated were the multi-instrumental trio Heinz de Specht and the cabaret artist, dialect poet and musician Manuel Stahlberger.

The "Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis" for 2016 was presented on 14 April in the presence of Federal Councillor Alain Berset at the opening of the Schweizer Künstlerbörse artists' fair in Thun. Camilla Pessi from Ticino and Simone Fassari from Sicily met while training at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri. They have been touring the globe since 2004 with their mixture of acrobatics and clowning. Each nominee receives CHF 5,000, while the winning company receives a total of CHF 50,000.
