Next year’s Swiss Theatre Awards will once again be presented as part of the Swiss Theatre Encounter, the sixth edition of which takes place in Valais from 22 to 26 May 2019 in association with the Federal Office of Culture. The productions chosen by the curatorial board will be presented at the four associated theatres (Théâtre du Crochetan in Monthey, Théâtre de Valère in Sion, TLH in Sierre and La Poste in Visp). Featuring an extensive fringe programme, the event is an opportunity for Swiss theatre practitioners to get together and also helps to foster mutual appreciation among the national theatrical community. The programme for the Theatre Encounter will be published in March, and the winners of the Swiss Theatre Awards will be announced at the end of April 2019.
