This year’s Swiss Grand Award for Theatre / Hans Reinhart Ring goes to Theater Sgaramusch from Schaffhausen, which has produced professional independent theatre for children since 1982.
Other awards go to the wildwuchs festival, production director Gabi Bernetta, theatre director Anne Bisang, actor and director Oscar Gómez Mata, and musical theatre practitioner Ruedi Häusermann with his Kapelle Eidg. Moos.
This year’s Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis has gone to Les Petits Chanteurs à la Gueule de Bois. Also nominated were Lapsus and Ohne Rolf. The award was presented at the opening of the Schweizer Künstlerbörse artists’ fair on 12 April at the KKThun.
This year’s award winners were announced on 26 April and a joint celebration will take place on 24 May at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. Tickets can be reserved free of charge from the Schauspielhaus.
The fifth edition of the Swiss Theatre Encounter – a minor milestone for the national get-together of the Swiss theatre scene – takes place at the end of May in Zurich.
The book on Theater Sgaramusch, this year’s winner of the Swiss Grand Award for Theatre / Hans Reinhart Ring, is being launched in Schaffhausen on Friday 7 December.
Forming part of Cultural Heritage Year 2018, “Hans Reinhart and his Ring”, an event devoted to the Reinhart brothers as patrons of the arts, takes place at the Oskar Reinhart Collection, Winterthur on 15 December.
The next Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis presentation takes place on 11 April 2019, once again marking the opening of the Schweizer Künstlerbörse artists’ fair in the KKThun.
The Swiss Theatre Awards 2019 will be presented on Friday 24 May 2019 at the Théâtre Crochetan in Monthey as part of the 6th Swiss Theatre Encounter in Valais.
