From 13 to 17 May 2020, the east of Switzerland becomes the meeting point for the national theatre scene and the event extends for the first time beyond the country’s borders. The Theater Chur, Postremise Chur and TAK Theater Liechtenstein have teamed up to stage the festival together. The Swiss Theatre Encounter, which takes place every year in different language regions of the country, is a showcase of notable works by producing and co-producing theatres as well as independent theatre groups from all over Switzerland. With seven productions selected by a curatorial board, the event aims to offer an overview of current Swiss theatre and promote interest in and enjoyment of the different theatre cultures. The fringe programme on topical theatre-related issues is aimed at both professionals and a wide audience.
