As in previous years, the Swiss Theatre Awards will be presented as part of the Swiss Theatre Encounter, which is also taking place for the sixth time. Seven outstanding theatre productions from all parts of the country will be on show. The current productions selected by the Theatre Encounter’s curatorial board complement the federal awards, which go to individuals and institutions for their contributions to the dramatic arts in Switzerland. The productions are: “Phèdre!” (director: François Gremaud), “Gaia Gaudi” by Gardi Hutter & Co., “Antigone :: Comeback” (director: Bernhard Mikeska), Sara – mon histoire vraie (director: Ludovic Chazaud), “Café Populaire” (director: Nora Abdel-Maksoud), “Coco – ein Transgendermusical” (director: Stefan Huber) and “Les Misérables” (director: Eric Devanthéry). The Theatre Encounter is a national get-together for the Swiss theatre scene and includes a fringe programme for professional theatre practitioners. Full information is available at:
