The images can be viewed through simple 3D glasses (provided), at which point the award winners will appear to “leap out” and demonstrate just how spectacular frozen movement can be. The dance festival, which is staged at around 30 locations in Switzerland, has presented a selection of the Swiss Dance Awards winners since 2015. Film photographers Philippe Antonello and Stefano C. Montesi, who have teamed up with Giuseppe Bianco since 2013 to focus increasingly on dance, photographed all the award winners in August 2017. The eleven artists from different generations all played along with the three-dimensional aspect in their own distinct way.
