“Triptyque” dance festival, 3D photo exhibition

The photographic duo Antonello&Montesi have produced 3D photographs of all the Swiss Dance Awards 2017 winners. The posters will be displayed in the streets, on walls and in theatre foyers at all the venues during the dance festival.

Dance as Cultural Heritage – selected projects for 2018

Of the seven projects submitted last autumn for Dance as Cultural Heritage 2018, the Federal Dance Jury has selected five: studies from the dance works of Sigurd Leeder, a homage to Charlotte Bara, a film about the teaching of Noemi Lapzeson, tale(s) of Swiss dance, and the project “Kulturerbe, tanz!”

Social media and “Dance it!” app

Since last summer, the Swiss Dance Awards have been on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter under the hashtag #CHDanceAwards. The “Dance it!” app, which now includes last year’s award winners, encourages users to shoot their own short dance films.

Next calls for submissions in autumn 2018

The call for submissions for the second season of the Current Dance Works competition (2017–2019), leading to the Swiss Dance Awards in autumn 2019, opens in autumn 2018, as will the next competition for the June Johnson Dance Prize.

June Johnson Dance Prize 2019 – call for submissions

As in previous Swiss Dance Award competitions, the Federal Office of Culture also invites submissions during the same period for an award for innovative dance involving young people, in association with the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation (STJS). In 2019, the biennial Swiss Dance Awards will once again be presented at the Théâtre Equilibre in Fribourg. The award ceremony takes place on Thursday 17 October 2019.

Swiss Dance Awards 2017 promotional measures

Since summer 2017 the winners of the Swiss Dance Awards have been on social media. A new promotion for the 2017 winners has already been organised for the 2019 Tanzfest dance festival, which takes place from 3 to 5 May 2019.
