Swiss Performing Arts Awards winners at the Theatre Encounter in Chur and Liechtenstein from 18 to 22 May

The Swiss Theatre Encounter will feature Martin Zimmermann, winner of the Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring 2021, along with Mathieu Bertholet, Béatrice Fleischlin and Nicole Seiler.

The Swiss Theatre Encounter is also a promotional partner for the FOC’s Swiss Performing Arts Awards, and offers a platform for the winning stage performers. At the opening of the festival, Martin Zimmermann, winner of the Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring 2021, will be presenting “Danse Macabre” on 18 May at the Theater Chur. An ensemble piece with an international cast centred around Zimmermann’s alter ego Mr. Skeleton, it is an animated portrait of our times: a dance of the dead on a rubbish tip. An installation comprising 12 short films by Martin Zimmermann will also be on show, and the MIMOS yearbook devoted to the artist will be launched. The Theatre Encounter fringe programme, which is devoted to “in-between” theatre forms, will feature Martin Zimmermann along with Mathieu Bertholet, Béatrice Fleischlin and Nicole Seiler as well as further winners of the Swiss Performing Arts Awards 2021.
