Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring 2024 goes to Lilo Baur

The versatile director and actor Lilo Baur is to receive the Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring 2024.

Born in Aargau in 1958, Lilo Baur has spent most of her career as an actor and director in London and Paris. She now works primarily as a theatre and opera director at such renowned venues as the Comédie-Française and the Opéra Comique in Paris, also regularly directing in Switzerland and working as a guest lecturer at the Manufacture in Lausanne. October 2023 saw the premiere of Une journée particulière, based on the film by Italian director Ettore Scola, at the Théâtre de Carouge in Geneva. The Comédie-Française programme for the upcoming 2024/25 season includes Molière’s The Miser and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. Always starting from the expressive power of the human body and working with the entire ensemble, Lilo Baur creates worlds on stage with a subtle, sensuous approach and a touch of humour, exploring the broad spectrum of the human soul.
