The third edition of the Swiss Theatre Encounter took place in four Geneva theatres following the presentation ceremony. Seven productions from all regions of the country as well as four fringe events attracted numerous theatre specialists and enthusiasts to Geneva.
The third edition established this new national festival of Swiss theatre as a firm fixture on the calendar. On show were three productions from French-speaking Switzerland, three from the German-speaking region and Graubünden, and one from Ticino. The well attended fringe programme brought together last year's winner of the Grand Award for Theatre / Hans Reinhart Ring, Stefan Kaegi, as well as the various drama schools, and addressed artistic permanence in theatre and supporting the spectator through outreach.
