Swiss Grand Award for Theatre / Hans Reinhart Ring 2016

Theater HORA in Zurich has received the Swiss Grand Award for Theatre / Hans Reinhart Ring 2016. It was presented on 26 May in the presence of Federal Councillor Alain Berset at the opening of the 3rd Swiss Theatre Encounter in the Théâtre de Carouge – Atelier de Genève.

Five further Swiss Theatre Awards 2016 accolades

Other awards went to the actor Jean-Quentin Châtelain, director Barbara Frey, theatre mediator Germain Meyer, the independent theatre group 400asa and Junges Theater Graubünden.

3rd Swiss Theatre Encounter

The third edition of the Swiss Theatre Encounter took place in four Geneva theatres following the presentation ceremony. Seven productions from all regions of the country as well as four fringe events attracted numerous theatre specialists and enthusiasts to Geneva.

4th Swiss Theatre Awards and Theatre Encounter 2017 in Ticino

The dates for the next edition of the Swiss Theatre Awards and Theatre Encounter have been confirmed: on Ascension Day weekend from Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 May 2017, the LAC in Lugano and the cities of Bellinzona and Chiasso will be playing host to the national theatre festival.

Wir freuen uns, Sie am 26. Mai 2016 zur Verleihung der Schweizer Theaterpreise ins Théâtre de Carouge ─ Atelier de Genève einzuladen. Neben Würdigungen der bereits bekannten Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger wird der Schweizer Grand Prix Theater/Hans-Reinhart-Ring 2016 angekündigt und in Anwesenheit von Herrn Bundesrat Alain Berset überreicht. This year, the Federal Office of Culture (FOC) presents the Swiss Theatre Awards for the third time. The ceremony will take place on 26 May at the opening of the third Swiss Theatre Encounter at the Théâtre de Carouge in Geneva.

Five Swiss Theatre Awards 2016

Five Swiss Theatre Awards go to individuals and institutions that have made an outstanding contribution to the dramatic arts in Switzerland. They also honour artistic achievements in acting and directing.

“Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis” for 2016 goes to Compagnia Baccalà

This year’s “Schweizer Kleinkunstpreis” goes to the contemporary clown duo Compagnia Baccalà. Also nominated were the multi-instrumental trio Heinz de Specht and the cabaret artist, dialect poet and musician Manuel Stahlberger.

3rd Swiss Theatre Encounter in Geneva

The third Swiss Theatre Encounter takes place for the first time in French-speaking Switzerland. Running from 27 to 29 May at four theatres in Geneva and complementing the Swiss Theatre Awards with seven productions from three regions of the country, it presents an overview of current drama production in Switzerland.
