Three of the seven projects submitted in autumn 2023 were chosen to receive FOC support: akar – past, presence, future, Mission Rudolf and a documentary on the festival “cultural heritage, dance!”.

The Internet platform akar – past, presence, future aims to document 40 years of Swiss dance from the 1970s to the start of the 21st century, focusing on the Bernese dancer and teacher Annemarie Parekh. Parekh brought modern dance to Switzerland from New York in the early 1970s and taught it at her school in Bern, “akar”. Mission Rudolf is an app developed in Winterthur that takes users on a puzzle trail to discover forgotten dance heritage. It is currently being adapted for the city of Zug, and a further version for Fribourg is also planned. The festival “cultural heritage, dance!” has already received FOC support on two occasions in the past. Now the material on 23 works from the repertoire of Swiss contemporary dance reinterpreted by semi-professional dance troupes is to be brought together and made available to a wider audience. Detailed information on all projects can be found here: Performing Arts Heritage (schweizerkulturpreise.ch)
