European denominational history is shaped to an extent by exiles and mass migrations. The Huguenots and Vaudois, for example, had to find refuge in Switzerland and Germany following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. In Switzerland, you can follow the route taken by those travellers of yesteryear between Geneva and Schaffhausen.
