Cluny Abbey, founded at the start of the 10th century was the focal point of a network exceeding 1,800 sites spread all over Europe. These sites were instrumental in the evolution of many European regions. In Switzerland, there is now a route spanning eleven Cluniac sites from Bassins to Rougemont.
