Industrialisation was a key influence in the history of modern Europe. The origins of the industrial revolution go back to the 18th century. They reveal another side of European history: the struggles of the workers and changes to the urban fabric. The opening of these industrial factories and museums gives an insight into this cultural, social and economic patrimony. In Switzerland, the route features the Iron Library in Schlatt.
